Yr 12 Visual Art is not just a subject; it is a significant life opportunity to respond to the world in an innovative and creative form where there are almost no limitations. In Year 12, students write their own inquiry question and then make an artwork in response to it. They can use any materials or mediums they wish. So this means students can paint, animate, take photos, sculpt, work with sound, create videos or, do any form of creative response they wish.
The Year 10 and Year 11 Visual Art course aims to prepare students for the experience described above. They respond to inquiry questions and are given a range of 2D, 3D and time based experiences.
Below is a small sample of some of the Year 12 Visual Art work from past students from Reedy Creek. It is a small sample that demonstrates the range of possible materials. The work below is an example of a sculptural work, a photographic work and a digital painting.
The benefit of studying Visual Art is to prepare students to be innovators and to have confidence in their own creative abilities. We now live in a world full of career potential for students who possess these qualities.
